if it's not scottish, it's crrrrrap

boy, my summer has really passed me by this year. i seem to recall having grandiose visions of trips to the beach, movies, camping, dinners with friends, craft projects, cooking...but what i actually recall is waking up, going to work, coming home and going to sleep, punctuated by a few weddings here and there.

i don't want to talk about the wedding because it's too overwhelming.

what i do want to talk about is scotland, and how we'll be there in eight short days. i am so ecstatically excited. the only thing that will throw a wrench into our plans is the dreaded STANDARD SHIFT CAR. although we've reserved an automatic, i've never heard of a rental company actually having the car you reserve, which means greg is in for about six hundred miles of driving - on the wrong side of the road, no less.

i can't imagine having a bad time in such a beautiful place, especially since we don't have a huge laundry list of "must see's" - we'll just be driving around to see what we can see. some of the more awesome places we'll be staying are here, here and here. despite the unappealing name, the "spittal of glenshee" should be pretty amazing, what with the incredible scenery *and* the fact that they have dogs for rent! ahhh, nothing like walking through a green glen with springer spaniels on the lead to feel like true scotsmen!

all i want to do lately is eat french fries.
